Fire Law and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England and Wales)
Building owners / occupiers have a legal duty to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. They must appoint a 'responsible person' and they may well be the owner or the manager of the building or the business.
Sometimes referred to as the Fire Safety Order or the RRO this came into force in 2006 and applies to virtually all premises and covers nearly every type of building in England and Wales.
Who is ultimately held responsible? Is it YOU?
In the eyes of the Law, ignorance is no defence
